Situated on the banks of the River Thames next to Lambeth Palace, with spectacular views across the river to the Houses of Parliament, the Garden Museum provides a unique blend of a modern space inside a traditional exterior. It's a beautiful setting for your special day, and it's right in the heart of central London. Freshly redesigned and expanded, this historic venue can accommodate both intimate gatherings and larger celebrations.
The Museum's great hall, with its soaring stained glass windows and medieval architecture, will make a striking backdrop for your ceremony and reception. Up to 250 guests can mingle during cocktail hour in the main hall and courtyard. For seated dinners, space is available for up to 120 guests.
After the cutting of the cake, newlyweds can steal away for romantic photos along the Thames walkway or in the Museum's centrepiece - a lush garden oasis in the heart of London. Meandering garden paths, colourful flower beds, and tranquil fountains ensure gorgeous photographic moments.
The Garden Museum offers a rare find for London - an outdoor entertaining space paired with an indoor venue brimming with old-world charm. From the dance floor to dining areas, the acoustically-perfect great hall (nave) will complement any style of wedding music or conversation.
Whether you prefer a classic wedding or imaginative theme, the Garden Museum's staff will work tirelessly to make your special day perfect. Contact us today to schedule a tour and see if our unmatched riverside venue is the right fit for your wedding.
Important to note, the Garden Museum supports your event with its own professional event manager and event stewards.
The dry hire venue rate for weddings in 2021 starts at £5,500 + VAT, or £6,000 + VAT for weddings in 2022. Catering will be provided by the catering partner of your choice.
Civil ceremonies are not permitted to take place at the Garden Museum. However, there are several alternative options available in close proximity, such as Marylebone Town Hall, Kensington and Chelsea Register Office, and Tower Bridge. On the other hand, humanist ceremonies can be conducted on-site only if the reception is also held at the venue.
